ETL Certification

Details
I. Introduction to Certification
ETL is the abbreviation of Electrical Testing Laboratories in the United States. It was founded by Thomas Edison in 1896 and is an NRTL (National Accreditation Laboratory) recognized by the OSHA (Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration) of the United States. After more than 100 years, the ETL logo has been widely recognized and accepted by major retailers in North America and enjoys a high reputation like UL. The North American market has the most advanced and complete product testing standards, and the requirements for product testing and certification are also relatively high. Any electrical, mechanical or electromechanical product bearing the ETL inspection mark indicates that it has been tested and complies with relevant industry standards.

Vi. Certification Process
Submit the application form;
2. Send samples to the laboratory;
3. Sample testing is conducted in the laboratory;
4. After the test is completed, submit the DS+Draft report to ITS for review;
5. Factory inspection (factory audit is required for the first application);
6. After passing, the institution will issue the ETL certificate.
Vii. Certification Cycle and Validity Period
The ETL certification cycle is generally 3 to 4 weeks. It can be expedited, and an additional fee will be charged for expedited processing.
Viii. Factory Inspection
When an enterprise applies for ETL certification for the first time, it needs to complete a factory inspection before obtaining the ETL certificate. The purpose is to ensure product consistency and the correct use of the ETL logo. After that, there will be random follow-up factory inspections every quarter. In addition to the factory inspection fee, the certificate and license fee also needs to be paid quarterly.
