I. Introduction to Certification
SUBTEL (Subsecretaria de Telecomunicaciones) is Chile 's telecommunications regulator. Products involving radio frequency, cellular networks or satellite technology need to obtain approval and certification for commercialization in Chile.
Ii. Product Scope
Portable transceivers, remote controls, wireless microphones, cordless phones, radio frequency identification (RFID) devices, radio alarms, medical communication system implementations (MICS), medical application equipment, vehicle radar system equipment, and any wireless technologies (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, RFID, etc.), such as printers, keyboards, computer mice and touchpads.
If the equipment can be classified into these technical categories, a certification certificate will be issued after obtaining a certificate of conformity from a registered testing institution in Chile. If the device cannot be classified into these categories, the manufacturer must obtain a "special authorization" from SUBTEL to commercialize the device.

Iv. Certification Cycle and Validity Period
Validity period: permanent
Valid forever
No factory inspection is required
