I. Introduction to Certification

CSA stands for Canadian Standards Association. It was established in 1919 and is the first non-profit organization in Canada dedicated to formulating industrial standards. All electronic, electrical and other products sold in the North American market need to obtain safety certifications. If a product wants to enter the Canadian certification market, it needs to apply for CSA certification. The purpose is to ensure that the product meets the qualified standards of the Canadian market and also to test and certify the safety and reliability of the product. The certification mark of CSA International can enhance retailers. Product designation agency. Law enforcement agencies and consumers' confidence in the product.

Ii. Product Scope

1. Electrical and Electronic: This includes regulations on the installation of electrical equipment for buildings, as well as various industrial, commercial and civil electrical and electronic products.

2. Communication and Information: Including products such as residence processing systems, telecommunications and electromagnetic interference technologies and equipment.

3. Human Survival and Environment: including occupational health and safety, public safety, environmental protection and health care technology for sports and entertainment equipment.

4. Building structures: including building materials and products, civil engineering products, concrete, brick and stone structures, pipe fittings and architectural design.

5. Energy: including energy regeneration and transfer, fuel combustion and safety equipment, nuclear energy technology.

6. Transportation and distribution systems: including motor vehicle safety, oil and gas pipelines, material handling and distribution, and offshore facilities.

7. Materials and processing technology: including welding and metallurgy.

8. Business and Production management systems: including quality management and basic engineering.



Iii. Test Items
The items to be tested for CSA certification are conducted by the laboratory in accordance with the standards of each product.

V. Required Documents

1. Copies of company information forms and business licenses;

2. Product Description;

3. Product name and model;

4. Product Usage - Please tell us how and where to use your product;

5. Parts List - Please provide the names and models of the product parts. Rated value. Manufacturer information. If the component has obtained CSA or UL certification, please indicate the file number of the part. If a certain component has multiple suppliers, they can be provided together.

6. Product performance and specifications, such as dimensions. Rated voltage. Current. Frequency and power, etc.

7. Structural diagram or explosion diagram: Please indicate the names of each part in the product's structural diagram on the drawing to ensure a one-to-one correspondence with the parts list.

8. Provide circuit schematic diagram: PCB schematic diagram. Product photos. Instructions for use. Safety precautions or installation instructions, etc.


Vi. Certification Process

1. Submit the preliminary application form, the instruction manual and technical data of the relevant products (including all electrical components and plastic materials) to CSA International together.

2.CSA International will determine the certification fee based on the specific circumstances of the product and notify the applying company by fax.

After confirmation by the applying company, the official application form and notice will be sent.

4. The designated laboratory will carry out the certification work on time.

After the certification test is completed, a preliminary report will be sent to the applying company.

6.CSA International will evaluate the responses of the applying company to the fifth item mentioned above.

7.CSA International will prepare a certification report for use as a reference for product production and for tracking inspection.

8. At this stage, in some cases, CSA International will conduct an initial factory assessment at the factory.

9. Finally, CSA International will issue a certificate of conformity along with the certification record, authorizing the applying company to add the CSA certification mark to its products.

10. The applying company is required to sign a service agreement with CSA International to indicate that both parties agree that CSA International will conduct product tracking inspections at the factory. The applying company is required to pay an annual fee every year to maintain this agreement.

The CSA certification cycle is 3 to 4 weeks
