I. What is EAC Certification?
The Eurasian Economic Union, formerly a customs union composed of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, was joined by Armenia and Kyrgyzstan. The Eurasian Economic Union was officially established in 2015. Eurasian Conformity, abbreviated as EAC in English or simply EAC certification, is a product certification system formulated and implemented by the Eurasian Economic Union.
Ii. Categories of EAC Certification for Electronic and Electrical Products?
Electronic and electrical products usually need to meet three standards:
TR CU 004/2011 Safety of Low-voltage Equipment
TR CU 020/2011 Electromagnetic Compatibility Technical Regulation
EAEU TR 037/2016 Restrictions on the Use of Electrical Hazardous Substances in Electronic Products (RoHS)
Usually, the first two standards are for applying for the EAC CoC certificate of conformity, and the standard EAEU TR 037 is for applying for the EAC DoC Declaration of conformity
Iii. What materials are required for applying for EAC certification?
1. CB report and certificate (If not available, LVD safety report can also be provided as an option)
2. EMC report
3. CIG 023 Factory Inspection Report (If not available, a certificate can be issued by an institution that does not require the provision of the factory inspection report)
4. Application Form
5. Russian instruction manual
What is the basic process for applying for EAC certification?
The first step is to select the licensing authority
The second step is to prepare the relevant materials based on the list of materials provided by the licensing authority
The third step is to submit the materials to the issuing authority
The fourth step is to choose to provide the CIG 023 factory inspection report or video audit according to the requirements of the licensing authority
The fifth step is that the issuing authority issues a draft certificate
The sixth step is to determine whether to send a normal sample machine to the licensing authority based on the requirements of different licensing authorities

V. Is a local representative required for applying for EAC certification?
The certificate holder of EAC certification can only be the main company of a member state of the Eurasian Economic Union. The main company of a non-member state of the Eurasian Economic Union cannot serve as the certificate holder. The main entity of an overseas company can only be listed in the EAC certificate in the form of Manufacturer or Factory.
Vi. How long is the validity period of the EAC certificate? Can it be renewed within the validity period?
The validity period of an EAC certificate can be a single batch or freely chosen for 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 years. However, for our electronic and electrical products, it is usually assumed that a 5-year validity period certificate is applied for by default. Once the original certificate is issued, it cannot be updated. If the certificate is still within its validity period and needs to be updated, a new certificate must be applied for.
