IRAM S-Mark certification

Details
I. Introduction to IRAM Certification
The IRAM Safety Mark is a mandatory (except for exempted products) certification mark in Argentina. The Resolution 92/98 adopted by Argentina in 1998 established the certification system as mandatory. As of December 31, 2002, The regulated products shall be evaluated by certification bodies recognized by the Argentina Accreditation Organization (OAA) for compliance with the relevant standards. The IRAM standard is mainly based on international standards (IEC and ISO). Manufacturers may attach the Argentine S mark to products that meet the standards. Product assessment is carried out in accordance with IEC standards plus Argentine differences or Argentine standards. In fact, the formulation of IRAM standards has adopted most of the provisions of IEC standards.
IRAM Safety Mark is a mandatory certification mark in Argentina (except for exempted products).
Electronic and electrical products with a voltage range of 50-1000V ac or 75-1500V dc, or special types of products with a voltage lower than 50V, such as light bulbs, lamp holders of halogen lamps, handheld power tools, skin and hair care appliances, kitchenware, etc., are all within the mandatory control scope of Argentina's S Mark.
Lighting products are rather special. For lighting fixtures with a voltage less than AC 50V, such as: Luminaires and power systems for luminaires connected to the network, or LED lamps and modules are all in the S mark control directory

Iv. S mark Certification Process
Method 1: Conversion based on CB report + CB Certificate + CIG 023 factory Audit report - This method is for Certification bodies of National Certification Body - IRAM or UL or Intertek
Note: For the first application of S mark, the certificate holder needs to register the company in the IRAM system first, pay the annual fee for the use of the S mark mark every year, and at the same time, provide the CIG 023 factory inspection report every year starting from the second year
Method 2: Based on sending samples to the Local Argentina OCP certification authority for testing + factory audit, apply for S mark certificate
Notes: Samples must be sent to the local certification authority for testing, and factory audits are required. Factory audits can be conducted via remote video or by actual auditors
