TISI refers to the Thai Industrial Standards Institute.
Established under the Ministry of Industry of Thailand in accordance with the Industrial Product Standards Act (BE 2511), it is fully responsible for the formulation of standards and the promotion of standardization within the territory of Thailand. Its main responsibility is to promote and manage the standardization work in various industrial fields within Thailand.
In the Thai Standard (TIS) issued by TISI, it is stipulated that the product implementation certification scheme ensures the compliance of products circulating in Thailand.
Product certification is achieved through the inspection, testing and auditing of products to confirm that they meet the requirements of Thai standards and to issue a certification mark. The process of product certification includes submitting an application, sample evaluation, testing and inspection, review and issuance of the certification mark, etc.
It should be noted that the TIS standard is also divided into mandatory standards and general standards for different products, corresponding respectively to the TISI mandatory certification mark and the TISI voluntary certification mark in the product certification scheme. In this article, Yingli Testing will mainly share the TISI mandatory certification standards.
Under the mandatory certification standards of Thailand's TISI, the certification model is similar to our domestic CCC certification, both adopting ISO/IEC17067 scheme Type 5(based on testing, quality system review and supervision + continuous supervision of production, market or both products).
After passing the sample test (type test) and factory audit, the applicant's products will be awarded the certification certificate.
At present, there are four product certification bodies in Thailand that can meet the TISI requirements.
At present, TIS has issued a total of 122 mandatory standards, including 42 standards for electronic and electrical products. These standards for electronic and electrical products cover the requirements for household appliances, lamps and other high-risk products.
The mandatory implementation dates of these TIS standards refer to the specific time when the relevant products are required to comply with the standards. The mandatory implementation of these standards aims to ensure that the quality, safety, energy conservation and environmental protection of products comply with Thailand's requirements, and to protect the rights and interests of consumers.
Marking requirements
TISI has released the TIS BOOK, which regulates the use of compulsory certification marks and requires that product labels must include the following information:
1. TISI Mark and Standards: The product label must display the TISI mark, indicating that the product complies with the mandatory standards of Thailand.
2. Manufacturer's name or trademark: The name or trademark of the manufacturer must be displayed on the product label so that consumers can identify the source of manufacture of the product.
3. Product Name: The label must clearly indicate the name of the product to enable consumers to accurately identify it.
4. Product Model: The product label should indicate the model of the product so that consumers can distinguish different models of products.
5. Product Parameters: The label should list important parameters of the product, such as size, capacity, power, etc., so that consumers can understand the performance and specifications of the product.
6. Production Date: The production date of the product should be indicated on the product label to help consumers determine the newness or oldness of the product.
These requirements are designed to ensure that product labels provide sufficient information to enable consumers to accurately understand and select products that meet the standards.
TISI certification is of great significance for products entering the Thai market. It not only enhances the competitiveness of the products but also conveys the quality and safety guarantees of the products to consumers. In addition, TISI certification also helps to comply with legal requirements in Thailand and protect the rights and interests of consumers.
