EN 62680 (DIRECTIVE (EU) 2022/2380) is a revised Directive on universal charging issued by the European Union in 2022, supplementing the specific implementation requirements for universal charging interfaces in the RED Directive (3.3(a) of Directive 2014/53/EU).

In a nutshell:

If the following 13 types of products can be charged through wired charging, they need to be uniformly equipped with the standard type c charging interface.

The terminal product type c female connector needs to have the certification of EN 62680-1-3;

Terminal products need to comply with EN 62680-1-3;

If the terminal products are shipped with wires, the wires need to have separate certification, IEC/EN 62680-1-3.

Devices that support fast charging need to comply with the USB PD protocol of IEC/EN 62680-1-2;
